Pre Birth Prep
Labour Support
Your doula is on call for you from two weeks before your due date until your baby is born. During labour we strive to create a calm and peaceful birth environment. We offer continuous emotional and physical comfort for you and your partner.
Postpartum Follow Up
During the first two weeks at home with your newborn your doula comes to your home to help with breastfeeding, offer emotional support, debrief your birth experience and celebrate your baby!
LET’S BE OXYTOCIN PEEPS!
The calming presence of a Doula enhances oxytocin release (study) which decreases stress reactions, fear, and anxiety, and increases contraction strength and effectiveness. The mother’s own natural pain coping hormones (beta-endorphins) are then further enhanced making labour feel less painful. Oxytocin is the LOVE hormone – it’s a really good time! But this party isn’t just for you… it is said to spread around the birthing room to all who are present!
